Education |
Thesis: "Cluster calculations of the electronic properties of crystalline Krypton", Abstract, Full text; Thesis: "Application of self-consistent band structure calculations for the analysis of electronic structure, magnetic properties, and X-ray spectra of equiatomic transition metal intermetallics and high-temperature superconductors", Abstract, Full text; Thesis: "Formation of orbital and spin ordering and their influence on physical properties of strongly correlated oxide compounds of 3d metals", Abstract, Full text. According to Web of Science™, the ideas, results and conclusions presented in this dissertation have been cited more than 4,150 times in the 20 years following its defense.
Field of scientific interests | Theoretical investigation of the electronic structure, magnetic and orbital ordering of d- and f- electrons of transition metal and rare earth ions in strongly correlated materials (in particular, oxides) with the use of first-principle band structure approaches such as LDA, LDA+U, LDA+DMFT, CPA. The aim of investigations is the development of methods for orbital and spin order modeling and application of them for the description of physical properties for real materials.
Most valuable own research and development | First-principles studies of strongly correlated systems and the creation on their basis of a calculational technology for predicting the behavior of nuclear-active materials during radiation
International scientific cooperation |
Short-term trips to the universities of Osnabrueck, Augsburg, Cologne, Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research, Stuttgart (Germany); University of Groningen (The Netherlands), Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics, Trieste (Italy), Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm (Sweden), University of Tokyo, National Institute of Materials Science, Tsukuba (Japan), Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (USA) for joint research.
